Unit 2 - Cell Division and Biotechnology Biology II
Biotechnology Research Project
See the finished projects! Objectives:
1. To gain a better understanding of the interface between biology and technology and a better appreciation of the ethical complexities that can emerge from this area of science.
2. To develop research skills and critically evaluate sources of information.
3. To develop both technical/informative and personal/persuasive communication skills.
Presentation of Research: You are to design and create a “presentation” for the class that will cover the following details.
1. A summary of the topic, including why it is relevant to society.
2. A detailed outline of the ways in which technology is used in your topic.
3. A discussion of the ethical considerations that exist within the field. What are the potential benefits and problems associated with this area of biotechnology?
Presentation Format Options: You may present your findings in one of several formats including:
1. PowerPoint (stand-alone, running automatically)
2. Poster Display
3. Wiki or Web page
4. Video
5. Audio
Topics: You have been assigned one of the following topics:
